Ralph Finds the Motorcycle (Ethan's Addition to the book "The Mouse and the Motorcycle"

Ralph felt bad about loosing Keiths motorcycle, he decided to do something about it.  He scurried out of the mouse hole and made his way to the door.  He crawled under the door and ran down the hall to the laundry room.  He looked around but he couldn't find the motorycycle anywhere.  Ralph thought to himself, where could the motorcycle be?  He thought and thought until he had an idea.  He scurried over to the laundry carts and climbed up the first one and looked in side it.  No motorcycle in site.  He checked all the carts with no luck.

Then he had an idea.  Maybe it's on the housekeepers desk.  So Ralph ran over to the desk and looked around for someway to get to the top of the desk.  He found a lamp with spirals carved into it.  He climbed the lamp until he reached the top of the desk.  Once on the desk he noticed the motorcycle and this made Ralph very excited.

Ralph ran over to the motorcycle and pushed it off the desk onto the floor.  It chipped a little paint off the front fender but the motorcycle didn't break.  He climbed back down the lamp and scurried over to the motorycle.  He threw his leg over the seat, put his crash helmet on and then grabbed the handles.  To make the motorcycle go he makes the Pbbbbbbbb sound.  He rode to room 215 and parked the bike under the bed and waited for Keith to return.

When Keith got back he looked for Ralph.  When Keith found Ralph, Ralph showed Keith the motorcycle.  Keith asked Ralph how he found the motorcycle.  Ralph said it was a little hard to explain but he told Keith the whole story.  That is how Ralph found the motorycyle.

Ethan's Day: November 29, 2010

When I woke up today I took a shower.  Then I got dressed and went to school.  At School I had PE and we played basketball.  It was fun.  I had a fantastic time.

When we went back to class we did math.  In math we did math boxes.  Math boxes is six separate questions.  I passed all of them.

After math I went to lunch.  At lunch I had crackers, a fruit roll up, a sandwich and a juice box.  Then we went to indoor recess.

When we got back to our class room I read a book.  Then it was time to go home.

What I learned:  I learned multiplication.  5 x 2 = 10

I'm happy because I didn't have to flip my card today.  You start at green, once you flip your card it goes to yellow, if you flip it again it goes to red.  If your card is red you have to write in your planner.

I was sad today because I didn't get a sticker from my teacher.

Monday, August 30th 2010

When I woke up I ate breakfast and I went to school.  Today was my sixth day of 3rd grade.  When I got to school I wrote in my planner and then I went to specials.  I went to PE today.  At PE we did something like bowling, except it wasn't bowling since you could throw and kick the ball how every you want.

During PE we had a school fire drill.  It was just a practice, since there was no fire.  After the drill we went back inside and only had like 10 minutes left of PE.  We finished the bowling game and it was a tie.

After PE we went back to our class room.  That's when we started our math lesson.  In our math lesson that's when we started learning to use a calculator.  Next was snack, I had a granola bar.  After snack our teacher read us a book titled, "Nya Nookie"  When the book was over we got to go to lunch.  I got to sit anywhere I wanted because the 4th graders got done with lunch early.

After lunch I went to recess and that is when the kick ball problem started.  (More about that below) When recess was over we went back to class and read more of, "Nya Nookie" the book is about the plains Native Americans.  After the book it was time for readers theater.  It was group ones turn since group three went last week.  I'm in group two.  Then it was time to get ready to go home.

My dad is making me think of 3 things I learned each day, 3 things that made me happy and 3 things that made me sad or mad.

Three things I learned today...

1. I leaned to use a calculator properly.  Really I played with a calculator to start getting use to one.
2. My teacher told me that 4:30 is not a time on a clock.  I'm confused because my dad says 4:30 is a time.  I will have to ask my teacher tomorrow if it is or isn't a time.
3. I learned how to use punctuation.  We had to fill in bubbles that showed if the sentence needed capitals or punctuation.  You could only fill in one bubble.

Three things that made me happy today...

1. One of the things that made me happy was that my teacher gave me a sticker today.  I sat on the carpet and was being quiet.  
2. My friends helped me with math, since I was having trouble and was confused.  The question was, "Rick had .45 to spend at the candy store how much did he spend?"  How am I supposed to know how much Rick spent?  I was supposed to figure out how much Rick had.  
3. The third thing that made me happy today was that my dad picked me up from the bus stop after school.  

Three things that made me sad or mad... I picked mad

1. In kick ball at recess I didn't get to kick much.  The kids on my team were bad at kicking and they got out a lot.  My team lost the game.  
2. My friends today got three stickers and I only got one sticker.  This made me sad.  When we do good stuff at school we get stickers, we are supposed to put them inside a basket.  My teacher does a drawing each month and if your sticker is chosen you get to eat lunch with the teacher for free.  
3. Today my parents took me to buy new school shoes.  I wanted to buy cleats for kickball and football at school.  My parents wouldn't let me buy them because they thought $25 was too much money.  This made very sad, I started to cry in the store.
